Medical support is being provided at Yatsushiro Municipal Daiyon Junior High School, which is serving as an evacuation shelter. The relief team has been offering overnight medical care since August 5. Evacuees at the shelter have been treated for cold-like symptoms and headaches.

The team has seen patients during morning rounds, with 10 patients treated on one morning. Conditions at the shelter are improving, with local hospitals resuming services and allowing evacuees to visit their regular doctors. The shelter has also received 80 tatami mats to improve living conditions for evacuees.
