Rohingya refugees are approaching their tenth year of displacement. Safety and dignity for these refugees cannot be postponed. A mass exodus occurred in 2017, and since then, various entities have worked to sustain a large refugee response.

Despite these efforts, severe and persistent risks remain. Insecurity is a daily concern for many Rohingya refugees, with safety and security being the leading protection concern for twelve consecutive quarters. Incidents affecting Rohingya refugees have been documented, including 455 serious security incidents between January and March 2026 that affected 832 refugees.
