Measles cases have increased significantly in the Americas, with 55,792 confirmed cases reported between epidemiological weeks 1 and 39 of 2026. This represents a 4.8-fold increase compared to the same period in 2025. The majority of cases are concentrated in a few countries, with Guatemala, Mexico, the United States, Peru, and Canada accounting for 99.5% of confirmed cases.
