Mozambique is dealing with several humanitarian issues, including displacement caused by conflict in the north. People are also still recovering from severe floods and are at risk of drought due to El Niño. In July, conflict caused the displacement of approximately 1,979 people, adding to the total of 28,163 displaced since the start of the year.

Most of the displaced are women and children, making up 65 percent of the total. Further details on the situation and its effects on the local population are available from the humanitarian snapshot report.
