Education is at risk for many children due to damaged schools. A significant number of schools have been affected, with at least 69 reported destroyed or damaged. This has put nearly 19,000 children's education in jeopardy.

Children who were stranded after floods were able to reunite with their families with support from aid workers. Many of these children had been traveling to school when they were cut off by floodwater. Further information on the situation is available, and initial assessments suggest that the numbers of affected schools and children may rise as more areas are reached and more information becomes available.
