Applications for international protection have decreased by 13 per cent in 2025 compared to the previous year, with 34,439 applications received. The total recognition rate at first instance is 30 per cent. Temporary protection was granted to 8,157 people between January and November 2025, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 99,963.

The reception system is overstrained, with thousands of asylum-seekers squatting or sleeping in the streets. Efforts to address family reunification are ongoing, with comments issued on a draft law in June 2025.
