A recent flash flood has affected a significant number of people, including children and persons with disabilities. Essential services for children and families have been severely disrupted, with damage to water supply systems, schools, and health facilities. The flood has damaged 50 water supply systems and 20 schools, and destroyed four health facilities.
UNICEF is providing support to affected communities, focusing on areas such as water, sanitation, and hygiene, as well as child protection and health. Efforts have already reached around 48,000 people with essential supplies, and restored damaged water supply systems in priority areas. Further details on the situation and response efforts are available from the UNICEF Nepal Humanitarian Situation Report No.
