Security in eastern Chad remains stable but fragile. Recent clashes in Sudan's Kulbus region have led to an influx of new arrivals in Chad's Koulbous and Birak areas. An evaluation mission has identified approximately 3,000 people in need of assistance in these areas.

In response, the UN refugee agency and its partners are preparing to launch a pre-registration operation for asylum seekers. The operation is expected to start soon, despite challenges posed by the rainy season. Logistics and operational preparations are underway to support the launch of this operation, which aims to improve the identification and relocation of asylum seekers.
