A protocol has been established to support the safe and effective management of data. This Information Sharing Protocol sets a common framework for exchanging information and data, based on a shared understanding of sensitivity and disclosure conditions. The protocol was developed through a collective effort and has been endorsed and revised by relevant groups.

The Pakistan Information Management Working Group and Inter-Sector Coordination Group led the development of the protocol, following operational guidance from the Inter-Agency Standing Committee. The protocol was initially endorsed in September 2023 and revised in May 2026.
