Refugees and migrants have been arriving in Italy, with 8,271 individuals reaching the country by sea between April and June 2026. The majority of these individuals came from countries such as Bangladesh, Algeria, Sudan, and Somalia. Children made up a significant portion of those arriving, accounting for 21% of the total.

In addition to sea arrivals, some individuals also entered the country through land and air routes. Further information on refugee and migrant arrivals in Italy can be found through the Italy Multi-Country Office, which also recently hosted an event in Rome to recognize companies supporting refugee integration and employment.
