Nepal: Satellite-detected Mudflow/ rockflow extent as of 26–27 August 2026 in Rasuwa District, Bagmati Province (Imagery Analysis: 26&27/08/2026 Published: 27/08/2026 V1)
A recent analysis of satellite images shows significant damage. The affected land covers about 20 square kilometers. People living in certain areas are likely to be exposed to the effects, with estimates suggesting around 2,000 individuals may be impacted.
The analysis is based on images from two different sources, taken on consecutive days. Demographic data was used to determine the number of people who may be affected. Further information can be found through the United Nations Satellite Centre, which has requested ground feedback to validate the preliminary findings.
