A disaster occurred in the Sughd Region on July 11, 2026, affecting villages in Shamtuch Jamoat, Ayni District. Flash floods and mudflows caused significant damage to homes, infrastructure, and agricultural land. Essential services and livelihoods were disrupted as a result.

The affected villages are Darg and Kazdon, where residential houses and private property were damaged. The disaster also impacted drinking water supply, irrigation systems, and electricity infrastructure. Internal village roads were affected as well.
