Flash floods affected a significant number of people, including children and persons with disabilities. The floods destroyed or damaged essential infrastructure, such as water schemes, toilets, health facilities, and schools. Heavy rainfall later disrupted response activities, as families moved to temporary shelters and other accommodations.
Mental health support and child-friendly spaces were established to help those affected. Some children were reunited with their families, while others underwent vulnerability profiling. Temporary toilets were constructed and water-supply systems were restored to serve affected communities.
Further details on the situation and response efforts are available from the UNICEF Nepal Humanitarian Situation Report.
