Heavy rainfall brought severe flooding to the area. The situation worsened over time, particularly in late January. This led to a request for support from the local Red Cross.

The flooding was caused by intense rainfall and resulted in dam spillages and river overflows. Hydrological conditions remained concerning throughout February. Further information on the flood emergency can be found through the Zimbabwe National Water Authority and other local sources.
